All you need is LOVE!

Sofia wishes everyone a Happy Valentine's Day. I wish Sofia and I could have made Valentines for everyone, but it takes lots of time and money, so we were limited. Hope everyone has a happy day!

Sofia is 9 months! baby Hanson #2 is 5 months!

So if you do the math you will see that these two will be 13-14 months apart. It's going to be so crazy, but I am so excited. I can hardly wait to find out the sex in the next few days (feb 16th). I am starting to think I am having a boy. I don't know why...
So Sofia at 9 months:
* She has 1 tooth. All last week she had trouble sleeping and we knew she was getting a tooth. The bump under her gums was there. It just took forever for it to cut through. But it did. Its on the bottom right. And shes back to her regular sleeping pattern. I really hope that we don't go through the sleepless nights for every tooth. Thats a lot of missing sleep for mama!
* She is crawling! She is pretty good at it too. She really keeps herself entertained for a good while.
* She hums when shes going to bed, so sweet. I usually sing twinkle twinkle, and now she chimes in with her humming :)
* She has learned to crawl to something and then stand up. No steps yet.I think it will be a while until she is walking. She is very cautious.
* She loves sesame street in spanish and your baby can read program. She listens and really focuses on the show. It's so cute!
* Her personality is changing now that she is crawling, actually I feel it changed from one day to the next. She is very independent and likes being able to move about on her own.
* She says mama, dada, nana, baba, she isn't atually naming things yet just in her bable she uses these words.
* She is getting good at waving bye bye.
* She is my social butterfly. She really engages with people and her surroundings.
* She still loves to shop in the cart. I think this is her social time.
* She is still going to baby gym. All the girls that work there love her. She does really well there. She doesn't fuss or cry for me. I think its because I have been taking her since 3 months, she is used to it. It is part of our daily routine and again its a chance for her to be social.
* She had a growth spurt!!! She is wearing 12 month clothes and shoes now. And moved up a diaper size, size 4.
* I am not sure how much she weighs, but we go to the doctor soon, so I will find out. I am thinking about 20 lbs.
* she is eating green beans, carrots, squash, peas, bananas, apples, berries, prunes, sweet potatoes, and yogurt. All in puree baby food form of course. Her favorties are green beans and sweet potatoes. She doesn't get any meats yet. I tried giving her turkey and she did NOT like it. I'll try again soon.
* She hates sippy cups. I have tried 3 different brands, and she is opposed to them.
* She still loves to bounce in her bouncer. Its so cute to see her curls fly everywhere when shes in that thing.
* She still has NOT had ANY vaccinations yet.She did get the stomach virus from me this past week. She recovered very quickly, about 12 hours.( Faster than my body recovered anyways, it took me a solid 24 hours.) I am leary about vaccinations and all that autism news. We just found out a friend of ours daughter has autism. This makes me so nervous. We were planning on starting at one year, but that will be here soon, may push it to two years...
***SPECIAL NOTE! I have tried to catch Sofia in action, crawling and babbling, but as soon as she sees or hears the camera, she stops and poses and starts smiling for me to take her picture. It is so frustrating and precious all at the same time. She's too smart this little girl. And she loves to have her pictures taken (good for Grnadma Hanson!)

Baby Hanson #2 is 5 months, and fixing to double in size, within these next few weeks. I am so anxious to know the sex. We have names for boy and girl. So it's just a waiting game now.

ARCTIC BLAST!

Yes, San Antonio, TX got a snow day! It was too cold for us most of last week. Sofia and I were inside Tuesday through Friday. Friday we finally got out and about.
It was a crazy week. I got the stomach flu, so Erik stayed home with Sofia and nursed me back to good health, then he got the day off due to road closures, then Sofia got the stomach flu... ugh! But some how between all the madness we managed to get some crafting done. Sofia and I completed her baby book (up to 8 months, pictures and all!), we made Valentines, we painted our toesies, and of course watched movies :)It ended up being a pretty fun week! Sofia is a great helper!
Erik of course was not impressed with our half inch of snow (neither was Sofia, haha)and I don't blame him. He was going to go to work even though they didn't have to but, he had no way of getting there due to road closures! I know it sounds silly and a bit extreme but us Texans don't know how to act, or drive with ice and snow on the road. In fact, one report said for 70 percent of drivers in San Antonio, this would be the first time to even SEE snow. So, for safety purposes, it was a good decision. And we had fun with Daddy home for a couple days :)

Baby Hanson #2 18 weeks

Well Baby Hanson #2 is 18 weeks old today!I feel that I finally look pregnant, as opposed to fluffy, or like I ate too much over the holidays. The belly has popped out and I think its obvious I'm pregnant. I sometimes wonder if people think I just still have some weight to loose from Sofia, but oh well.
I think we have already had a couple instances of sibling rivalry. Once last week Sofia woke up in the middle of the night, crying and baby #2 started kicking and moving like crazy. Then as soon as Sofia went back to sleep and it got quiet the movement stopped and we all went back to sleep. Then last night I was rocking Sofia and she was across my tummy and baby #2 started kicking and moving. As soon as Sofia fell asleep I laid her down and the movement from baby #2 stopped. I think Sofia was cramping his or her space in the womb.LOL. And so it begins...
I would really love for these two to be really close to one another. They are so close in age I think it will be great if they get along, whether its a boy or girl. I am going to do my best to encourage it.

As far as Miss Sofia goes, she is happy as a clam crawling and climbing everywhere. Her personality is changing, and she is definately becoming more and more independent every day.

Happy Happy

Today Sofia was in such a good mood all day long. It was sooo cute. She woke up at 8am and has not napped yet. She is so excited to be crawling she doesn't even want to stop to eat. She has just been going and going all day. I can tell she feels really independent being able to get around by herself. She really loves to go to this one corner in our living area and just hang out there. There are tons of power cords that she likes back there. Maybe shes going to be an electrician.LOL

I love this picture, because I think it really captures the moment.

Ciao for now!

LOOK OUT WORLD!

Sofia is most certainly crawling. She began officially yesterday. She has been struggling with it for weeks now. But she is off, it is official. She had began "rocking" about 4 weeks ago but just didn't really get going anywhere. She found a way to scoot around places especially to get to things like my lap top or cell phone, but it wasn't really a crawl until yesterday. She would get in plank position and stay there for a while, then do mountain climbers LOL sometimes she would even push so hard with her hands she would slide backwards, poor baby made it so much harder on herself. I am waiting to see what she does today. Thinking it make take her some time to warm up and remember, but I am sure she will get really good and fast.

Baby number 2 is coming right along. We find out the sex on February 16th, not sure if we are going to tell everyone but probably. We have names picked out for a boy and two for a girl. I feel fine, still pretty energetic. Looking forward to Feb. 16th!

Happy New Year from the Hansons!

PRECIOUS! She liked wearing her hat!

Happy New Year! We are back in Texas! We are getting settled back to our ordinary day to day routine. Sofia is so easy going she just re-adjusts to whatever is going on. Erik went back to work and I'm back to school :( Having the break was nice. I can't believe we are almost done with January and approaching February already. This pregnancy seems to be flying by! I hope it continues this way and doesn't drag on at the end, but I'm sure it will. Any who, make 2011 what you want. We have some goals set for this year, got to get moving on them! Happy 2011!
