5 months!

Hektor at 5 months...

still not sleeping through the night. im very sleep deprived. if this post is incomplete i may have fallen asleep writing it!

he is a verrrrry light sleeper, in fact erik sleeps upstairs in the guest bedroom during the week so he can get some sleep and have energy at work.

he eats cereal three times a day. he loves it and gets excited watching me prepare it.

hes still very alert and aware of everything.

hes napping alone during the day now! I was having to hold him, but not any more!

hes begun to play in the play room with sofia.

he still sleeps in bed with me.

we still do cloth diapers, so far so good. i admit i use disposables when we are out in public or in corpus.

hes smiley just how sofia was.

it seems he prefers girls, lol. at the gym day care he will only go with the girl employees.

he wears size four disposable diapers. he and sofis wear the same size, lol.

hes very talkative

he still thinks sofia is sooo great : ) he smiles and talkS to her a lot. i hope they stay close always!hes reaching and grabbing anything and everything!

he sucks or chews on his thumb.

he doesnt roll over yet, but then again he hasnt had much practice cause he never lets me put him down!!

hes sitting well in the bumbo, finally!

hes growing and changing soooo fast! I love him more and more every single minute!

erik had been on and on about wanting a mastif mix. i though he was just talking and thinking about it. well then the day before thanksgiving(as if i wasnt busy enough) he asks if i want to go look at puppies. as you can see from the pics above we got one.

lucky for erik shes a good dog, or hed be sleeping in the laundry room with her! Sofia really loves her already! Its cute to see them play. i have a feeling shes going to make a great family dog. we just have to get past this puppy training stage!

thanksgiving day 2011

i forgot to mention one more thing im greatful for! My mom coming up here last week! Erik and i got to go on a date, i had constamt help frm mom and sister, and she totally rocked at making the turkey....and the other sides of course. thanksgiving meal wouldnt have been the same with out her here. one con is that i am still working off the food we ate and i have a dress to fit into this saturday for a wedding. erik and i are eating half meals all this week. so far so good. but its only tuesday, hahaha!

so erik and i hosted our first thanksgiving in our home. we had a full house. it was wonderful. once again i was too busy with te babies and other stuff to get all the pictures i would have liked. but here are a few!

giving thanks

thanksgiving is now with out a doubt my new favorite holiday. good food, family, and a day of thanks. i have so much to be thankful for this year its hard to start (not to mention i didnt sleep much last night so my brain isnt at its best ability. hektors teething now so hes not sleeping well at night, but thats a whole other post!)

topping the list this year is the gift of motherhood. sofia and hektor bring so much joy not just to me but our entire family, and sometimes even strangers at the grocery store. they are so happy and smiley its so easy to smile with them!

a close second is the health of my babies! The worst has been just a cold. but even that was so hard for me to see. i dont know how others deal with really sick children.

i am beyond thankful for my husband! Hes a great dad, husband, provider, and friend. he works really hard so that i stay home with our babies. which leads me to my next thing which i am greatful for, being able to stay at home with sofia and hektor. i cant imagine missing this. its work, lots of work. im tired, reallly tired. but i wouldnt have it any other way! Im thankful for the home we are settling into now. it really feels like home!we have lots of work to do to get it the way we want, but with time and patience it will all come together. i am thankful for my family,my mom, dad, and sister.even though they are two hours away i know we can count on them.not just my immediate family but also my extended family... we are all so blessed with happiness and good health. i am thankful for my in laws. eriks immediate and extended family are all so great. they are very different from my family but still have some of the same qualities. everytime i go back to south dakota i learn something new and expand my horizons. i couldnt have found a more genuine family! i could go on forever about all i am thankful this year, but i think i covered the main ones. pluschektors starting to fuss...gotta love it!
