The supplies
Thanks to pinterest sofia and i are sporting a new look! And it cost 17 bucks and we have tons of supplies left over!
Sofia and i gave our shoes a make over! It was easy and fun! And best of all cheap:-) Originally i was just going to revamp sofias shoes, but then i found a pair of flats that i had and could practice on too. Im so excited about our shoes! I have so many supplies left over im going to do some bows and maybe have a glitter your shoes playdate!

it all started with a pin...

one single pin was all it took. I fell head over heels in love. Fitness routines, style ideas, healthy meal plans, decorating ideas, ideas for the kids, party ideas, and more. How could one website be so amazing. Swoooooon.... I knew the first time i laid eyes on you we would be together forever. Thank you pintrest for making me a better wife, mom, & person.

i love sofia.....

i seriously looove sofia. Shes not perfect, she has her "bad moments". But still I cant help it, shes just so very special. I love how she wakes up in the morning in a good mood. I love how she says "hiiii" as erik brings her down stairs in the morning. I love her fat little feet. I love how she wiggles her toes when i take off her shoes. I love how she says Hektor- "heto". I love her language. Even though i never really know what shes sayin. I love that she babbles all the time. I love her diligence. I love that when she wants something, she goes for it, all out, with her head down. I love to hear her sing along to veggie tales and tomas the train, even though she doesnt know all the words. I love her dare devil attitude. I love that she falls all day long, and rarely cries. I love how shes become protective of hektor. I love to hear her boss the dog. I love how she colors with such tenacity. I love that she loves to eat!i love when we tell her i love you she says...i know.
Sometimes I feel these moments are passing too fast. Im trying to find a spot in my brain to just remember her exactly how she is at this moment in time. Its so very precious. I dont know where the past 21 months have gone. But i do know ive never in my life been so happy.

2012 I resolve to...

1. Get Hektor sleep trained.Once this happens our lives will change!
2. Get Sofia potty trained
3. Finish up the the upstairs bedrooms. This one Im giving myself a dead line. March 2012.
4. Finish up the master bedroom. My dead line is end of May 2012 for this one.
5. Finish my thesis by dec 2012.
6. Buy all organic food, and STOP comparing the price to the inorganic/unorganic (?)
7. Have date night once a month. Try to get more insync with erik.
These are a little late but better late then never!

juicing detox

so erik and i will begin our 12 day detox tomorrow. Im super stoked! Its something i have wanted to do for a very long time.first i was pregnant, then nursing, then pregnant again (ha!), then nusing again. I stopped nursing hektor right at 6 months and with the holidays behind us now is the perfect time to start!
We have eaten like pigs, i mean kings all weekend. We had pizza, fries, whataburger,krispy kreme(that was only erik), mexican food, and i think we are eating bill miller today. Lol. Im kinda grossed out by our desire to eat so much. We have acted like we will never see food again. Its only 12 days!
The detox we are doing isnt just juicing. The detox consists of fruit and veggies only. However they can be eaten raw, cooked, or juiced/blended. You cant add ranch,butter,or peanut butter though...darn! Actually you cant add anything, not even salt. So the plan is to start every morning with a 8 oz glass of carrot juice. Fruits and veggies the rest of the day. I am prepared to be grouchy inthe begining, but by day three you are supposed to have more energy and a clear head. The hardest part will be the no coffee. I have a cup every morning and a half cup around 430. Im really gonna feel the no coffee. That might make me grouchy, just the thought puts me in a bad mood.grrrrrr....
Twelve days frm tomorrow ill post our results!

Hektor 6 months

At 6 months...
Biggest news, sleep training! Aka cry it out. Night tnree tonite. The problem is he wakes up in the middle of the night wanting to be soothed. Hes not hungry, not hot or cold, just needy and hasnt figured out how to self sooth. Our pediatrician said it was time. I was going to do it anyways, cause i really need to sleep! So it was reassuring to hear it frm his dr. The first night was horrible. He cried for two and a half hours off and on. Yes, i know that seems like forever and im sure some of you moms will think its cruel, but you cant judge others cause u never know what youll do when in certain situations. And in this situation i am desperate for sleep! So night two he woke up twice1 and 3 am. He fussed for 10 min the first time and 7 the second. We will see how night three goes!
*he eats a lot! Everyone talks about how girls are expensive cause of all the clothes. Well he is gonna be expensive to feed!
*he sweats a lot. Therefore, stinks a lot. So he takes more baths than Sofia. Lol.
*eats carrots, green beans, sweet potatoes, pears, and cereal. His favorite is sweet potatoes.
* he is 17 pounds, 26 inches.
*still hasnt had diaper rashes the way sofia would get them. Not sure if its a boy thing, or because of the cloth diapering, if hes still too young, or what.
*no teeth yet.come to think of it i think the diaper rashes began when the teething started. So ill keep a look out for that.
*lovesssss mum mums. Sofia never did, so this was a shock to me.
*wears 9 month clothing
*smiley
* mommas boy, and i love it, for now at least. It does have some cons. For example, when im exhaustedand erik wants to take him but he still wants me. :(
*he talks a lot too. Need to record it asap.
*still doesnt like being left in bumbo or bouncer much. He loves arms.
*he rolls over
*not sitting up yet. He never lets me put him down, so he doesnt get much practice time!
Hes the cutest. Happy half birthday Hektor. Already thinking of possible birthday themes for him... Awww! Love love love him to pieces!

Sofia 20 months

Sofia is 20 months, almost two!
At 20 months she is
* not potty trained :/
*a great eater! She does go through phases, but today she ate everything. Kinda dreading the diaper change tomorrow. Ha! Tmi?
*weighs 22 lbs. Baby brothers catching up quick!
* wears size 4 diapers, they actually share diapers, pretty nice!
*wears 18 month and up clothes. My little shorty:)
*talks all the time. Though not real words. But she goes on and on about everything.
*totally into veggie tales now. Thank u grandma hanson! We havent watched chipmunks or spirit in over a week now. I like veggie tales too. Good lessons to live by, nice reminders of making good decisions!
*all her shoes are snug now, will be ordering new ones soon.
*learning to share with others and getting really good about sharing with hektor. Its alot of work for me to be on her all the time, but i want her to learn early on. Sharing is not a natural instinct so i stay on her about it. Im really pleased with her sharing skills.
* she is a great big sis! For example, today i was coming down the stairs and saw this: hektor in his bumbo, dropped his teething biscuit and fussed and she picked it up and gave it to him:)how sweet! My heart smiled.
*shes blessed with good health. Still hasnt gotten really sick yet. KNOCK ON WOOD!
*she loves clothes!
*shes soso about bath time, not sure what prompted this change. She was loving it last month.
*she hates diaper changes
*continues gaining independence
*loves scuzzi, though now shes calling it papuzzi
*seems to be sayibg more little phrases.
*says he-tor instead of baby now. Which totally makes since. Hes growing up!
Oooo shes still oodles of fun. A total blessing!

happy new year!!!

we were so blessed to ring in the new year surrounded by family and friends this year! my parents and sister were in town. and eriks parents and the harkin family were in town. we had some friends over as well and it was great party. erik and i made it until midnight! happy 2012:-)

Merry Christmas!

so much has happened since i last blogged.but ill start with christmas. four days before christmas we went to corpus. we were so busy i dont know where the time went. but we had fun, as always!dec 23 my grandma had a party, we went and celebrated with extended family.then we came home dec 24 to celebrate christmas in our home for the first time. we went to mass christmas eve, grabbed some greasy junk food on the way home and watched christmas movies.christmas day we woke up, opened gifts, and ate some more. it was awesome! hektor was clueless. but sofia enjoyed her gifts. she was so calm when she saw her gifts. first she saw the wagon, then the trike, and last the ball pit. shes gotten use out of all three already. hektors gone out in the wagon as well. for some reason they enjoy walks in the wagon over the stroller. erik was a good boy this year and santa brought him a basketball, a track suit, and filled his liquor cabinet. he works so hard he deserves it! i recieved tons of baking materials and a hot pink jog skirt! just what i wanted!we hope everyones christmas was just as amazing!!!
