Catching up... Sofia 24 months

Playing catch up. Hektor is 11 months.Sofia is two...almost two and one month now. I have really been slacking on the blog thing. So much has changed since I last blogged. Sofia at 24 months... *A little missy. Couple weeks ago she couldnt go anywhere with out her purse. Starting last week she needs her sunglasses(shun-ases, is how she pronounces them). Its so cute to watch her growing into a little girl. *Still skipping naps, yet sleeping 7-7. ALTHOUGH....shes napped sunday, monday, and today! I am thinking its the heat wearing her out. Not sure if this will be a permanent change or if shes just been tired lately? *weighs 24 pounds. *she started her vaccination schedule now. So she will have them all before she starts school at age 5. We are doing a very slow and steady shot schedule. *she loves playing with Hektor, still working on sharing. Probably for the rest of their lives. *she still talks all day long in her own language. There is a lot I understand, but a lot I don't. * Shes been playing pretend with dolls and figurine like toys. Its really cute. * She got a tea set for her birthday and loves having "tea time". I need to get her a little tabel for this. * still not potty trained...im ready to try again. I just got sick of the non stop accidents. I dont know if it was her stubborness or if she didnt care. But we would sit on the potty every two minutes and she wouldnt pee, then soon after have an accident. The reward system totally did not work for her. oh well. * she still sleeps in her crib. I wouldnt be in a rush to get her out. She loves it so much and doesnt climb out. But Hektors moving in to the crib soon. * she loves to eat fries, avacado, cherry tomatoes, hummus, chicken, toast, eggs, green beans, and brocli. shes a really healthy eater. Her weakness is fries and chips. Just like her momma! *she loves to have her nails painted! she gets a mani/pedi from me once a week. It takes two minutes. Her little nails are tiny! *shes been trying to wear my shoes. She takes them into the kitchen where there is tile cause she likes the clack clack of the heels. * she likes to dance. *shes so strong. I think shes gonna be an athlete. Not sure what sport but man shes tough! *she loves to be out and about. If we havent gotten out of the house by 3 she starts asking "bye bye?" * she likes to twirl in her church dresses *she loves to pretend to swim in the tub. I wish I could take her swimming, its just impossible to do with two babies by myself. * shes very independent. SHe will wonder off and not even look back. I have to constantly watch her to make sure she doesnt wonder too far. * swings is still the favorite at the park. * she loves to wear hats and headbands. The other day I put on a hat and she said "wheres my hat?" * she loves fish. We went to the aquarium she loved it! She calls them "wish, wish, wish" * shes over her juice craze. Im so glad! Back to milk and water. She got hooked on juice boxes after we went to several birthday parties but shes fogotten about them now. Thank goodness! Shes so sweet. We are so blessed to have her in our family! We all love her more and more each day!

i know i can crawl, but i want to be carried everywhere still!

me and my dad! I have been slacking! I have been busy and when I have had free time I have important stuff to do, like laundry and dishes. Life would be so great without laundry, dishes, and sweeping/mopping. Hektor @ 9-10 months * time has really snuck up on me * he is crawling *he has 4 teeth * he pulls up to his knees not all the way to his feet yet * he eats everything * he talks/babbbles a lot * loves being with sofia. in fact they told me at the gym that he wouldnt settle down until they put him with sofia. made me happy to know they like being with one another. * they are starting to have little quarrels over toys, snacks,sippy cups, the usual baby stuff * he weighs 22 pounds and is 27 inches long. doctor says he is perfectly porportioned weight and length. i agree he is perfect :) * he is a really good eater, as long as teeth are not bothering him * wearing size 4 diapers * sleeps til 330 am, then is ready for a bottle. then sleeps til 630- 7. if i dont give him a bottle at 330 he is up for the day at 530am. so i dont mind giving him a bottle at 330am...AT ALL! *i think hes getting more teeth in. he (we) didnt sleep much last night. he even let me rock him three different times at night. i dont mind, especially since he is growing so fast. * he is so strong. he pulls my hair super hard! * he tackeld sofia for the first time today.lol! she had a snack and wouldnt share and he just buldozed right over her. haha. in the end neither one got the snack cause it got crushed in the tackle. looks like our dog will be the one to enjoy the remains of the snack :( all in all hes happy, healthy, and a great eater!love my little man!

Sofia 22 months

ok sofia is really almost 2! everymonth it gets closer and closer and i feel like whoa!. i cant imagine how ill feel when she actually turns 2. im more sad about her turning 2 than i was about her turning 1. i think its becuase shes really not a baby anymore.
sofia at 22 months-
she loves to count, to say abcs, popcorn, veggie tales, tomas the train, calliou, to be outside, "Z" (what shes been calling the dog), to sing, chippies (chips), to talk (though its still mostly babble to us), playing with hektor, to dance, being outside, coloring, outside chalk, helping daddy outside, rice, pizza, chipmunks, spirit the stallion, toy story 3, reading books,thats all i can think of.
*not potty trained, but we are not very active about it.
*think shes gettting some more teeth.been with her hand in her mouth.
* wears anywhere from 18 month clothes- 24 month clothes.
* think shes about 24-25 pounds by now. shes got her 2 year old appointment around her bday so ill find out then.
*shes super healthy! shes got a great immune system. i thought she was getting sick last week, but one day later and she was back to normal. and she might have just been going through some teething troubles.i got the flu and she was fine. her and hektor, alleluia!
*when we put her to bed and say i love you..she responds with...i know. Lol!!!
*she runs on her tippy toes, its so cute!
*shes a pretty good eater one day and the next she will only eat popcorn. ugh. as long as shes healthy i guess.
*she loves chicken, and will eat that every night with us. so thats reassuring!
* she started last week with no nap. im not happy about this. i still put her in her room, in her crib.some times she falls asleep, sometimes she stays awake and just talks the whole time. i moved up her quiet time and that seemed to help. im convinced she needs a nap. im going to keep trying.time will tell.
thats sums up miss sofias progress. im only going to do a month by month blog until she is 24 months. so i only have 2 more monthly updates left...time sure has flown. i love my baby girl!

Hektor- 8 months

I hate blogging in a rush, but Im so behind so it will have to do!
Things are getting easier. Thank you GOD! Just when I thought I can't take it anymore things got easier. FEwwwww!
Some new changes:
*Hektor is sleeping a lot better. Morning and afternoon naps are with ease. Night time he is also doing great. In fact he slept through the night last night whoohooo!
*He was having some major trouble with his teething. We bought him one of those teething necklaces made of some benzite stones (i think). and wow what a difference it has made. WOw! Wow! WOW! why did i not have one before?
* he eats anything and everything. ok not everything i know there are certain things he cannot eat, ex: nuts. but hes a really good eater. texture does not phase him.
* he weighs 19.2 pounds, hes a stout little guy. he doesnt look heavy but he is!
*wears size 4 diapers
*wears size 9- 12 month clothing
*he has his first hair cut :) he looks like a man now!
*he still enjoys bath time
*he is soo happy most of the time.
*still needs to be close to me. if not hes fussy.hes sitting right next to me now!
*he laughs and laughs with sofia. he really enoys her company.
* he is not crawling yet
*he likes the bouncer and will jump on occasions.hes more reserved in that jumper than sofia was.
* i am starting to show him the your baby can read program. sofias not watching it as much so i have been slacking and hektors not been exposed as much. starting now!
*still only has 2 bottom teeth
*still has long narrow feet, with long finger toes
* he is doing really well at baby gym! they never call me anymore, unless he or sofia has a poopy diaper.
that about sums up hektor at 8 months. happy, healthy, good eater, and sleeping pretty well these days. love my baby boy!

65 yr anniversary

without them, my babies would not be here today!





eriks grandparents celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary which was the reason for our trip toouth dakota this past feb! it was a beautiful celebration. something that doesnt happen often. they were so cute. there was a family dinner followed by a dance. we had to leave early cause of the babies but we still enjoyed the time we were able to spend with them. it was great to see a true love story.

i think thats about it, but they are milestones worth sharing in my opinion!

Love Day 2012

So, I told myself when I started this blog that I would be totally honest with the people who read this, but most importantly myself. Today is Valentines Day 2012, 9:20 pm. Im sitting here blogging, alone, drinking champagne infused with rasberry sorbet. But today,as awful as the story sounds, has been filled with love.
My day started at 4 am. Hektor woke up for his 4 am feeding. I tried to go back to sleep, and finally I did (idk what time). I ended up over sleeping, sleeping until 730....ahhhh!!!! ahhhhhhhh, cause we were having some friends over for breakfast. I got dressed made some breakfast foods. And before I knew it our friends were here. We ended up having a great morning full of play time. Hektor slept through half of it. And woke up fully energized ready to interact! Sofia played the entire time.
They both had a great morning!
Then out of no where Sofia had a blow out in her diaper, I picked her up to change her, and poop just when every where. All down my new juicy couture velure pants and jacket. I wanted to vomit, and I just may have but friends were still here so I held it together. I got us changed put on clean clothes, wiped us down and went about our day. Our friends had all gone by 130, and then it was nap time. Both babies went down for a nap, and I got to watch my fav, Dr Oz!
Sofia and Hektor woke up around 5 and we decided to get ready and get dinner ready. We set the table first, then decorated our chocolate fudge cake, and then we got showered and ready for our Valentines day dinner with daddy. Sofia must have somehow known today was special because she spent ten minutes putting on lotion. Then she put on make up, then she wanted to wear my heels so very badly. She got super frustrated because she could not get them on!It was hillarious, how does she know to do these things, she must watch mama and take notes! So we got dressed and then it was Hektors nap time....again! Daddy got home and announced he was feeling ill and wanted to go to bed. boooooo! on Valentines Day?! So we had a quick valentine dinner, put pjs on, daddy went to bed, and the kids were in bed by 8. Then Hektor had a diaper blow out and I had his poop all over me. So shower number 3 after I put him to bed. And now here is mama "alone" on Valentines day, blogging.

My day has without a doubt been filled with so much love. More love than I could have dreamed of. And there is no doubt in my mind, this is just as God has intended my Valentines Day to be. Alone, quiet, relaxed. Yes, it is a bummer Erik isnt feeling 100% and went to bed at 7. But God knows I could really use this alone time to sit and sit and sit and just be...

sofia 21 months

This is two days early but we will be out of town....Sofia is ALMOST 21 months....eeek! Terrible twos a couple months away! ALthough I dont think she will be terrible, lol. I am definately already thinking about her party and pretty set on veggie tale theme. SHe loves it sooo much and honestly so do I. The lessons are really good and can be applied in the adult world too!

* shes fast, fast runner and on her toes all the time.
* shes happpy girl.
* knows what she wants
* having a hard time sharing,but we are working on it!
*loves to sing, and i love to hear her sing.

* loves to eat rice & yoigurt
* loves to be outside and with the smelly dog!
* totally into veggie tales, toy story 3, spirit, and calliou
* can count to 3
* working on please and thank you
* still goes on and on and on in her language, but slowly speaking more english
* loves when daddy comes home.
* loves to play angry birds on the tab
* loves to color
* loves to paint and finger paint
* will start soccer this sunday...lol!
* likes to eat dog food
* still not potty trained but im not too worried about it.
* loves her crib, so not moving to big girl bed for a while.
shes just a ray of sunshine. i love her so very much! cant belive time is passing so fast!
* shes starting to help around the house...kinda. we ordered the learning tower so she can help me wash dishes...lol. she wants to help she just makes things a little more difficult.
Things are finally getting easier around here. I still have those days where i think thats it! Im going back to work and putting them in daycare, this is too stressful! Then i calm down and totally eat my words.

Hektor is 7 months old!

Hektor is already 7 months old! SOOO hard to believe hes closer to age one than newborn :( Time has passed so quickly. I can't believe it. Yes I am already thinking of a birthday theme. Im not really sure he is that into anything yet, just whatever sister is into right now.
Hektor at 7 months...
* wakes up once during the night, 4 am. I give him a bottle and he sleeps until 6 or so.
* hes fully recovered from a double ear infection, ouch! he was such a soldier, just like daddy!i knew something was up because he wasnt wanting to sleep AT ALL. So sure enough we went to the dr and he had a double ear infection. Thank God it is all healed now. Hes back to sleeping better.
* hes a very light sleeper, and doesnt really like to sleep. He tries so hard to keep up with older sister, but poor baby needs his sleep. He is good about his morning nap, but always always fights the afternoon nap.
* hes sitting up all alone now
* he has one little tooth, bottom left.
* he weighs 18 pounds now and is 26 inches.
* he wears 6-9 month clothes still. its cute b/c the sleeve and pant legs are long. but hes a solid kid.
* he has long narrow feet and long finger toes, just like his daddy.
* hes a happy baby as long as hes getting what he wants, which usually means me carrying him.
* he likes me to be right there with him. if i walk away he freaks out.
* hes a flrt, he loves to be in the spotlight.
* he holds his own bottle
* hes talking a lot. he even says mama often. its so sweet. i dont think hes calling me mama but he says it.
* he loves sofia, hes always laughing at her. shes pretty clueless.
* hes a good eater. his favorites are sweet potatoes and his plain cereal. SAME AS SOFIA! how wierd is that. he likes peas too.
* he hasnt tried to crawl yet, but he loves to sit up and look around.
* he always flips out of the bumbo, not sure why he doesnt like that thing?
* hes smiley, just like sofia was.
Hes just sooooo precious. I cant believe hes growing so fast. I love him so much! My baby boy!

Thanks to pinterest sofia and i are sporting a new look! And it cost 17 bucks and we have tons of supplies left over!
Sofia and i gave our shoes a make over! It was easy and fun! And best of all cheap:-) Originally i was just going to revamp sofias shoes, but then i found a pair of flats that i had and could practice on too. Im so excited about our shoes! I have so many supplies left over im going to do some bows and maybe have a glitter your shoes playdate!
