Sofia 20 months

Sofia is 20 months, almost two!
At 20 months she is
* not potty trained :/
*a great eater! She does go through phases, but today she ate everything. Kinda dreading the diaper change tomorrow. Ha! Tmi?
*weighs 22 lbs. Baby brothers catching up quick!
* wears size 4 diapers, they actually share diapers, pretty nice!
*wears 18 month and up clothes. My little shorty:)
*talks all the time. Though not real words. But she goes on and on about everything.
*totally into veggie tales now. Thank u grandma hanson! We havent watched chipmunks or spirit in over a week now. I like veggie tales too. Good lessons to live by, nice reminders of making good decisions!
*all her shoes are snug now, will be ordering new ones soon.
*learning to share with others and getting really good about sharing with hektor. Its alot of work for me to be on her all the time, but i want her to learn early on. Sharing is not a natural instinct so i stay on her about it. Im really pleased with her sharing skills.
* she is a great big sis! For example, today i was coming down the stairs and saw this: hektor in his bumbo, dropped his teething biscuit and fussed and she picked it up and gave it to him:)how sweet! My heart smiled.
*shes blessed with good health. Still hasnt gotten really sick yet. KNOCK ON WOOD!
*she loves clothes!
*shes soso about bath time, not sure what prompted this change. She was loving it last month.
*she hates diaper changes
*continues gaining independence
*loves scuzzi, though now shes calling it papuzzi
*seems to be sayibg more little phrases.
*says he-tor instead of baby now. Which totally makes since. Hes growing up!
Oooo shes still oodles of fun. A total blessing!

happy new year!!!

we were so blessed to ring in the new year surrounded by family and friends this year! my parents and sister were in town. and eriks parents and the harkin family were in town. we had some friends over as well and it was great party. erik and i made it until midnight! happy 2012:-)

Merry Christmas!

so much has happened since i last blogged.but ill start with christmas. four days before christmas we went to corpus. we were so busy i dont know where the time went. but we had fun, as always!dec 23 my grandma had a party, we went and celebrated with extended family.then we came home dec 24 to celebrate christmas in our home for the first time. we went to mass christmas eve, grabbed some greasy junk food on the way home and watched christmas movies.christmas day we woke up, opened gifts, and ate some more. it was awesome! hektor was clueless. but sofia enjoyed her gifts. she was so calm when she saw her gifts. first she saw the wagon, then the trike, and last the ball pit. shes gotten use out of all three already. hektors gone out in the wagon as well. for some reason they enjoy walks in the wagon over the stroller. erik was a good boy this year and santa brought him a basketball, a track suit, and filled his liquor cabinet. he works so hard he deserves it! i recieved tons of baking materials and a hot pink jog skirt! just what i wanted!we hope everyones christmas was just as amazing!!! Merry Christmas from the Hanson family!

sofia and i got started on our holiday baking early this yr. here are some pics of our sunday of baking! she was so helpful, lol.

cookie exchange playdate

sofia and i made cookies for our cookie exchange playdate. we had fun. we had just as much fun at our play date. hektor slept most of the time but sofia got in some play time.it was a wonderful morning. and we got some reallllly good cookies:-)

sesame street live!

we went to sesame street live with our friends seana and nia. i really didnt know what to expect. but i was really pleased with how it all played out! the tickets were expensive, but it was something i really wanted to do with sofia. i had told myself not to be bummed if she didnt like it and we had to leave early. but nope, she and nia loved it and we watched the whole show. at the end they were dancing like it was a really cool concert, i guess for them it was!it was so precious!

erik thought it would be nice if we and by we it means me, baked cookies for the culdesaq(i swear sometimes i wonder if he thinks i stare at the wall all day). but i agreed that it would be nice. we have gotten plenty of goods frm them when hektor was born, so now would be a good time to repay them!
so i googled cookie ideas, found some beautiful and tasty cookes to make. we headed out to the grocery store and got all we needed. hektor went down for his nap so sofia and i got started. she was soooo into it. more than i thought she would be. and at first i was super frustrated with her. i wanted to make these beautiful cookies, but she was messing them up. lol. and so i decided to let her. she was so happy to help. the joy that it brought her to help made me realize that i will have plenty of time to make the perfect martha steward cookies. but for now i need to let her help. even if that means the neighbors get cookies that are not exactly christmas trees and are literally rough around the edges.
